Quit Beating That Drum

Another Black History Month has come and gone.
Can we now knock off the nonsense and carry on.
Can we quit sowing division, can we all hold hands.
Can we all watch together as Brandon grandstands.
What is so hard about saying our history's intertwined.
Like if we whack off together, we'll all go blind.
If we play in the mud. regardless of race we get dirty.
If we should reach 29, our next birthday is thirty.
The same red blood courses through everyones veins.
Anyone who says different doesn't have any brains.
We can all be good people if we learn not to hate.
When the race baiters are hunting, don't swallow the bait.
I've heard we're all brothers in the same human family.
Are we not all nurtured on milk from mothers mammary.
We would all be happier not sweating the small stuff.
Life is what we make it, so why make life tough.
It's a good thing to be clean but don't be brainwashed.
Segregation is a evil fallacy we should see squashed.
You're no better than I am, I'm no better than you.
Our station in life is determined by what we all do.
Don't listen to race hucksters whose message is fraud.
We all have free agency, we're all children of God.
Be happy who you are, don't stress where you're from.
It will be a glorious day when we quit beating that drum.
